Downloading and Installing Counter Strike 1.6 Server. Download Counter Strike 1.6 Server Creator: 2. Start installing it. After the installation the CMD window will pop-up and it will start downloading files of your Counter Strike 1.6 Server. When download completed, go to C:SERVER directory.

In this article we will show you how to create CS 1.6 server and how can you make yourself Admin of that server.

You have to follow the following steps to show your server on LAN;

1-Go to GARENA GAME SETTING from any Room where you want to show your server

2- A dialog Box will appear , search in the Directories where u have install Game and Select HL or HLDS because both them can only show your server on LAN

3-1. If you select HL you can simple create server by starting your game Manually but if you chose HLDS you have to go into your server by simply starting your game (without garena) and you have to made yourself admin on the DEDICATED server or RCON password to handle it.

Put your RCON password by using following command rcon_password “PASSWORD” in your console (Remember you have to open your game simply i.e without GARENA)

Now , you are ADMIN on your server and can use every command of an ADMIN just you have to write “RCON” before every command etc to kick , ban , change map or to restart your server e.g rcon change level or rcon sv_restart 1

You can also add your friends or anyone as ADMIN by giving him your servers RCON PASSWORD.

Installing non-steam cs 1.6 server on windows is very simple ,but for the server to be lag-free, you
should have a
computer at least with the following configuration:
— 2 Gb RAM
— 2.4 Ghz CPU
— Fast DSL internet connection and
— Installed CS 1.6 game or Standalone server downloaded by HLDS Update tool.

Go to the installed directory of cs1.6. Find hlds.exe

Select counter strike from the drop-down list specify server name and the rcon-password.

Configure the server by setting properties such as freezetime,roundtime ,friendly-fire etc. You can also configure the same in the server.cfg file but right now you can do it from the gui itself.

This will start your cs1.6 server ,but will be accessible only in your local area network.

So,to make it accessible on the internet ,you need to forward the required ports. For Forwarding the required ports,you need to have access to your router/modem page. Typically you can go to the router/modem page by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 in a web browser. Some routers have 192.168.0.1-specially those by Cisco Scientific Atlanta Wi-Fi routers. Also ,typically the default user-name and password for the router page is admin and admin respectively. However, if it has been changed then you need to specify those credentials.

Select your router from a number of routers listed on the page. Then select counter strike from the list of games available and make port forwarding easy. Basically Counter Strike requires you to forward the following ports: 1200,27000-27015,27020-27039. And that’s it- your server is accessible to anyone on the internet.

Note:- while connecting to the you need the local ip+ port ,and for others on the internet will need your global ip address+port.

You can connect to the server by launching the counter strike game, then typing connect your_local_ip_address:port in the console which can be accessed by pressing the ~[tilde].
For internet users they need to type connect your_global_ip_address:port in the console.
Default port is 27015.
If you are away from the server that is away from the local network of the server you can still access
the server through the rcon-password by typing in rcon_password your_rcon_password
after this you will be connected to the server and you can issue various commands by prefixing them
with rcon viz
rcon changelevel de_dust2
the command changelevel changes the map.

Also if you need to add some more cs1.6 maps,then you need to download those maps,and go to your counter strike directory .Inside that you will have cstrike folder and inside that you will have maps folder. In the maps folder you can paste the required maps file. Generally they are .bsp or .wad file.
